Let’s re-meet Lucky!

Lucky, formerly known as Loki, got a little name change because, honestly, Lucky fits his personality so much better!

This handsome 55lb, 1 year old Lab/Husky mix came to us from a village where he spent a good portion of his puppyhood outdoors. Lucky made his rounds around town and has quite a few little ones running around, including our recently adopted Chance! Now recently neutered he is focused on being a puppy himself.

Over the last couple of weeks, Lucky has been learning what it means to be an inside dog, and we couldn’t be prouder of his progress! He went from never having been in a kennel to learning how to settle himself and regulate his emotions. He’s doing wonderfully with this transition, and we’re so excited to see him continue to grow!

Lucky is also working hard on his basic commands and knows sit, down, off, and touch. He’s learning his kennel cues, too, including when to go inside and how to wait for permission before coming back out. This boy is a smart cookie!

But beyond all his progress, Lucky is just the sweetest love bug. He wants to be wherever his people are and would happily spend his days being part of whatever his family has going on.

He absolutely loves his dog friends and does a great job of paying attention to their cues. That said, Lucky is still a young, energetic guy with plenty of doggy social skills to learn! Having appropriate canine friends who can help him learn and burn off some of that energy would be wonderful for him. He has done well with young kids, and has also shown curiosity and interest in cats rather than aggression. We would still recommend slow, thoughtful introductions to ensure everyone has the best chance of success when joining his forever family.
